About C.H.Smith, Cabinet Maker in Oxfordshire

I’m Christopher Smith and have been creating things with wood for the whole of my working life. In 1983 I established my own commercial workshop operating as C H Smith Cabinetmaker / Woodworker.

While working on a set of bespoke window frames, or seamlessly blending a new kitchen cabinet with an existing installation, is all part of a days work, it’s the really challenging items that I really enjoy working on the most.

Maybe your home has an odd shape recess that is crying out for a storage solution. Are you a furniture designer with amazing ideas but not sure how to deliver the finished item, or an architect with a customer who needs a beautiful oak staircase. These are the sort of commissions I thrive on, and love delivering outstanding solutions.

After talking through your ideas and requirements, I draw up a design, costing and schedule of the works involved. If this is accepted it then becomes the commission.

Because I keep all my work in house in my workshop near Wantage, have the freedom to develop the design and construction as the project grows, as well as keeping control of quality and the work on schedule.
